Homemade Blueberry Jam

Thinking about my local farmer’s market post yesterday, I was inspired by the blueberries I picked up and wanted to try something new. I started by writing some notes and voilà, blueberry jam was born!

It was so easy and now I am looking forward to a summer of jams!

1 pint of blueberries
1/4 sugar
1/2 juice of a lemon
pinch of salt

Combine-Mash-Cook-Stir- Serve
Literally, it sounds silly, but it was that easy!
Wash the berries, place in a pot and combine all ingredients.
Mash until a chunky consistency and bring to a boil.
Lower the flame to a simmer and cook for about 25 minutes, the blueberries transform into a lovely, gooey, paste.
Scoop into a glass jar and chill.
Serve over anything you like and smile. Image

Jelly, jam, preserve… whatever way you say it, you need to try this recipe, it is like summer in a jar!
