Moving to a new neighborhood brings lots of new excitements, one of which is exploring the local restaurants and cafes. One of my newest finds and getting to be a favorite is The Jungle. Situated on the corner of Manhattan Avenue and Huron Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, the bright green and orange colors will catch your eye and draw you in off the street.
The fresh, clean vibe is present from the moment you walk into the cafe.
The staff are friendly with warm smiles and the flavors are inviting. Everything is vegetarian, can be made vegan and most options are also gluten free.
All allergens are clearly marked, which makes for happy menu reading!
My first visit I got a coconut smoothie for the road and the beet burger for a picnic!
The smoothie was so fresh and flavorful the perfect way to beat the summer heat.
The beet burger had deep flavors with a perfect texture and nicely matched toppings. I even dipped parts in the Jungle dressing, which I highly recommend!
The salad bar looked so delicious as I walked by that I promised to return for another visit.
Indeed it was!
He enjoyed them both and I snuck a few spoonfuls of the soup, which was so delicious and creamy with a magical balance of spices.
The jungle has so many choices and an atmosphere that will make you want to stay all day.
The complimentary citrus water is a lovely addition and ultra refreshing as you walk in off the hot city streets.
Head over to The Jungle and let me know what you order!
Not in New York? have a favorite vegetarian cafe near you? I’d love to hear about it.
