Sharing great vegan food is something I take great pride in, not only is it fun to cook new foods for friends and family, but showcasing the familiar flavors of vegetables balanced with new bold ingredients always brings smiles and satisfied bellies. One of my favorite recipes is buffalo cauliflower wings.
If you ever seen these on a menu, go for it and if not, have a go at making your own.
I have shared a couple of my recipes in the past:
but this sweet, sour and spicy version is a another crowd pleaser.
(I made this recipe on the fly, so please pardon the loose measurements.
1 head of cauliflower
A small bowl of soy milk
A small bowl of gluten free flour
3-4 Tablespoons your favorite hot sauce (The one pictured below I got for Christmas and pain isn’t the word! The spice level was high, but sub in for your favorite)
A good squeeze of ketchup
A glug of balsamic vinegar
Small splash of sweet chili sauce
Squeeze of bbq sauce
Pre heat the oven to 350
Break the cauliflower head into bite sized florets
Dip each piece in the soy milk then flour, set on an oiled baking tray
In a separate bowl, combine the hot sauce, vinegar, ketchup, bbq sauce and chili sauce
Stir until a smooth sauce is formed, taste and adjust according to your taste and heat level
Bake the cauliflower florets until brown and crispy about 45 minutes to an hour
Toss in the wing sauce until all pieces coated
Serve with a cooling dipping sauce and enjoy!
