I am a big fan of those ginger boosts that are sold at juice shops, the tang of the lemon paired with the zing of the ginger is the perfect pick me up and packed with vitamins and germ fighting goodness. However, I am not a fan of how expensive they are, a little 1 or 2 oz. bottle can be about $3-4.
I let my taste buds lead the way and had a go at making my own. I filled 2 48 oz. jars for under $3, now that’s what I am talking about!
10 cups of water
A good sized knob of ginger, about a thumb to a thumb and a half in length, peeled and cut into chunks
Juice of 2 lemons
1 teaspoon- to a Tablespoon of cayenne pepper (depending on how hot you like it!)
Boil all ingredients together for about 20-25 minutes
Blend until smooth in a high speed blender
Jar, pour, sip and ahhhhhh……
Great to add a splash to smoothies and soups as well. Keep it on hand and enjoy!
