Planning a picnic or BBQ and looking for an easy appetizer?
This mushroom toast is not only super easy, but a delicious crowd pleaser.
6-8 slices of sourdough bread (Or store bought crostini, if in a pinch)
2-3 cups of chopped mushrooms, oyster, chanterelle, shiitake to name a few….
(Extra bonus if you can get your mushrooms from a local farmers’ market like Blue Oyster Cultivation)
2 cloves of garlic
A good glug of olive oil
Salt to taste
Finely chop the garlic
Heat a large pan with the oil and add the garlic
Roughly chop the mushrooms and add to the garlic and oil
Sauté for a few minutes, until all flavors combined
Add salt to taste
While cooking, toast the sourdough
Top the toast with the sautéed mushrooms and garlic
Enjoy as an app, side or a snack!
